Hardwood Flooring by Floor WorksHardwood flooring has always been the gold standard for beauty and durability for home and office flooring. Hardwood installation almost guarantees that a home’s overall value will instantly increase and its maintenance and beauty more than doubled.

If you’ve decided to make a major change in your home environment, installing a new hardwood floor is one of the best changes you can make.

Whether replacing old wood floors or installing them for the first time, hardwood flooring is sure to last for many decades to come. Therefore, it is important to carefully choose the species, color, style, width and placing of your floor.

At Floor Works, our experienced project managers  personally consult with you to help you choose the right hard wood flooring type for your needs. We will also help you decide what different types of woods, whether domestic species like red oak, white oak, maple, birch, or one of the exotic hardwoods, like Brazilian redwood or Koa would work best for your lifestyle and decor

  • Traditional Hardwoods: Real hardwood flooring is likely your most expensive option for wood flooring, although it will last a lifetime. Traditionally, it is the best flooring for non-slab homes. Real wood floors also are a flooring option that you can truly count on in the midst of a water issue in your home, for example. Water can get under the flooring panels and they may buckle. But you can wick the water from the boards, and they likely will lay flat again. Real hard wood floors do require some maintenance, including polishing and sweeping with a soft hardwood broom.
  • Engineered Hardwood: Engineered hardwood floors are made from layers of wood-like material topped with a real wood finish. They are a slightly more economical flooring option and can work on all types of sub-floors. Engineered hardwood is a nice in-between option if you cannot afford real hardwood floors but you want the look of them. Many people can be fooled into thinking your looks are real wood — and that’s because partly they are!
